American Express Platinum Edge is a high value points earning credit card which makes American Express very competitive in the frequent flyer mid range market. The card offers bonus points, a 0% introductory rate on purchases for the first six months and a free return domestic flight with Virgin Australia each year represents real value for money.
The points earning program offers up to 3 points per dollar spent at major supermarkets - so great for regular family shopping. The points for flights are applicable to Virgin Australia, Virgin Atlantic, Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Air New Zealand. Points can also be redeemed with over 1500 gift and shopping options.
The platinum card also means it includes free domestic and international travel insurance, travel inconvenience insurance and online fraud protection guarantee on unsolicited use of the card.

A value packed card from American Express offering lots of benefits at a relatively low annual fee. If you spend plenty on groceries and petrol as many of us do - using it regularly at supermarkets and petrol stations will present lots of point earning opportunites, which can be used with 7 different airline partners. Additional card holders are free so it can be used across the family increasing overall value.
